The ED CRIN, Dr. Patrick Adebola has made it a norm that his management team must be trained at least once in a year to enhance their efficiency, productivity and managerial skills. The 2022 Management Retreat/Training was held between 4th and 6th November, 2022 at the Conference Hotel, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. The ED CRIN, Dr. Patrick Adebola, in his opening remarks enjoined the management staff to take a good advantage of the training tailored to the enhancement of their skills. Advanced Courses in Management were taught which centered on Leadership and Governance in Managing Progammes – corporate governance, governance system, importance of corporate. governance, 4Ps of corporate governance (People, Purpose, Process and Performance), risk management, principle of corporate governance and establishing corporate culture. Other courses taught includes: Institutionalizing Governance (Culture) in Research Programmes – project governance, project components, governance model, accountability and responsibilities, stakeholder engagement, stakeholder communication, meeting and reporting, risk and issue management, assurance and project management control process.

Also, practical example of Team work and Team support was demonstrated through various games to illustrate organisational teamwork in achieving a set goal per time. Similarly, the ED thought it wise that a slogan be created for the Institute, which must be catchy and sellable. After a session of rigorous brainstorming, the management under the leadership of the ED came up with the Institutional slogan which is tagged: Lead – CRIN; Response: innovation for sustainability.
