Biography

Dr. Abiodun Rasheed ADEDEJI, born 25th December, 1964 at Ibadan and earned a B. Sc. (Botany), M. Sc (Plant Pathology) and PhD (Plant Pathology &Mycology) at the University of Ibadan in 1994, 1997 and 2008 respectively. He joined CRIN in 1999 as RO1 in pathology and rose along ranks to Director in 2017. He has 35 journal papers and 53 others in proceedings and books. Professionally, he has good experience in disease survey, forecast, management, and farmer field school. He has served as Member in over 20 Technical Committees, over 15 Administrative duties and Resource Person at over 30 Workshops in Nigeria and more than 5 other countries of Africa/World. His core areas of research cover the Biological control and Integrated Pest Management. He has facilitated several trainings of farmers on Incidence and management of diseases of cocoa, Kola, cashew, coffee and tea tree crops, Cocoa Management/Rehabilitation in Nigeria, Kolanut production and Export Potentials in Nigeria, European Union regulation on Pesticide residues in Cocoa and Technical Workshop on Organic Agriculture in Nigeria e.t.c. He is currently the Director/Program Leader of Cocoa Research Program. Dr Adedeji is happily married and blessed with children.
