The Institute held Farmers Field Day on November 22, 2022. The theme was: Dissemination of CRIN Developed Technologies to Boost Nutrition and Food Security. The occasion was a melting pot for Farmers, Research Institutes and Industries. As expected, the ED CRIN, Dr. Patrick Adebola, was fully on ground to spice up the occasion. The Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, represented by the Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Adeniyi Adebisi, in his address, commended the continuous efforts of CRIN in developing Technologies of her mandate crops for positive impacts on the farmers in the country. He deeply appreciated the technologies showcased by the Institute at the occasion. He rated CRIN as Number one in the development of cocoa germplasm for subsequent distribution to farmers. He specifically harped on the efforts made by CRIN in reaching out to farmers with seedlings during COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, he pointed out the innovative strides of CRIN in cashew in collaboration with USDA and pro-cashew and the partnership with Oyo State on cashew seedlings distribution.
